Okay, so, I needed a pump for my home project. I looked around, and this “Little Giant” magnetic pump kept popping up. It’s supposed to be good for moving liquids around, even some that are a bit nasty. I found a model called the 3-MD-SC, which looked like it would fit the bill.
First thing I did was order the thing. It wasn’t too hard, plenty of places online sell them. I just picked one and waited.
When it showed up, I opened the box and checked everything out. It looked pretty solid, and it’s not too big, which is good. The instructions were okay, not great, but I’ve dealt with worse.
Next, I started hooking it up. This pump is meant to be used “in-line,” so I connected it to my tubing. It wasn’t too tricky, just had to make sure everything was tight so it wouldn’t leak. They say these magnetic pumps don’t have seals that can wear out, so that’s a plus.
After I had it all hooked up, I flipped the switch to turn it on. It started humming, and I could see the liquid moving through the tubes. So far, so good!
- It’s pretty quiet, which I like.
- It seems to be pumping the liquid just fine.
- No leaks so far!
I’ve only been running it for a little while, but I’m happy with it. It seems like it’s going to work out great for my project. I’ll have to see how it holds up over time, but I’m optimistic.
Maintenance
From what I read, these pumps are pretty easy to take care of. There is not much to maintain on this thing, I guess that it will be easy to clean. I hope to use it for a long time.
